A friend recently dropped off this old bit of sheet music. She felt it might be a nice companion to my still life work that features old, tired and run down flowers. I was warned before opening the envelope that it's contents were somewhat "dark and depressing". Those that know me, know that I have never considered dark and depressing to be a problem...

That's a Wrap
My printmaking seminar wrapped up last night. The above photo shows the edition of prints I produced for the class print exchange. There are some wildly talented artists that participate in the Open Edition printmaking seminar on an ongoing basis so as you can imagine I walked away with some really great prints last night. I will likely enroll in the Summer session which begins on June 11th but in the meantime I want to make some new photographs specifically for photogravure. I feel like I am finally getting a more clear idea of what types of images work successfully for the process. I have a lot of work to do but that is a challenge I welcome.

Final Five
It is 1:30 a.m. and I have just arrived home from the printmaking studio. Tonight I proofed my final five plates. Well, not my final, final five plates - just the last five I intend to make this semester. From the twelve new plates I have made, I need to make a decision as to which of these I will edition for the class print exchange. Once I have sufficiently fussed, decided, re-decided and fussed some more, I will commit my weekend to making fourteen prints, fourteen perfectly printed and matched prints...
